In the year 2004, two companies with several decades of experience in the dental field - Amann Dental Equipement GmbH in Austria and Girrbach Dental GmbH in Germany - decided to fuse.
Amann Girrbach corporation manufactures laboratory units for dental technicians and dental labs. They produce and export their units under their own label to all parts of the world. They also produce units for other brand manufacturers in the dental industry. Amann Dental was founded as a one-man business in 1973 by Dietmar Amann. The first location was the garage of his own residential house. It rapidly has developed to a modern company with nowadays 100 employees.
Whereas the German plant, Girrbach Dental GmbH, was established in 1936 by Herbert Girrbach. He acted as a wholesaler for dental products in the southwest of Germany and therefore named his business "Zahnwarengrosshandlung Südwest". Since the beginning, their delivery program complied with the needs of a dental technology that was still at its initial stage. This craft was not only technically related to the profession of a goldsmith but also closely located to Pforzheim known as the "Gold Town". Then in the second generation, Karl Girrbach expanded the business to 110 employees, and under his management the company got a good reputation as supplier of complete systems.
Thanks to the fusion of both companies, the range of products experienced an ideal supplementation. On one side, there is the development of new units and the production, and on the other side, there is material research and expertise in dental technology. Today, 220 employees work under the same name although they are spread on two plants in Koblach/Austria and Pforzheim/Germany. Since 2005, AmannGirrbach has been represented in the United States of America by a branch office in Florida, USA.
The product line is oriented to the process chain of prosthetic measures. Dentists and dental technicians find materials, units, accessory, information, training, and service. All of these help to supply the patients with reasonable dental restorations at an economic criterion. Nowadays, the company focuses on units and materials in the areas of registration/articulation, work preparation, casting/joining as well as esthetical facing materials.
Jutta Girrbach and Oliver Amann are the managing directors running the company. The third Girrbach generation and the second Amann generation have taken over the family businesses and are ready to face future developments in dentistry and dental technology.
