Digital lecture series, webinars and local events instead of a major international trade fair in COVID 19 times
Amann Girrbach reacts to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and announces its decision not to participate at the IDS 2021. With this proactive approach, Amann Girrbach joins the ranks of other dental companies, which will also not be participating at the IDS 2021.
"Due to our responsibility towards our customers and employees, we cannot advocate participation in an event of this size in times of COVID-19 - as difficult as this decision may be for us. The current prevalence of infections and the forecasts of institutes and scientists will not allow for a risk-free and therefore meaningful trade fair presence in spring 2021," says CEO Wolfgang Reim, explaining the company's decision not to participate at the event. "Over the years, the IDS has developed into one of the most important dental trade fairs worldwide. Contact with visitors from all over the world, a lively face-to-face exchange and intensive consultation close to the product are our main activities at the IDS. As the situation currently stands, none of this appears to be feasible - quite apart from the worldwide travel restrictions which we must continue to expect," Reim continues.
However, to give customers more detailed insights into its latest product developments, the dental specialist from Vorarlberg (Austria) has already been successfully present with a digital exhibition stand concept since March of this year. The "Digital Dental Show" (DDS) invites dental technicians to take a virtual tour of the exhibition stand and enables them to take part in webinars and lectures in various languages. "We would like to build on this digital, interactive format and are planning a digital congress for the fall with international speakers and lectures for all time zones in at least 4 lan-guages," states Marketing Director Patrick Amann. "At the same time we are closely monitoring the global COVID-19 developments, as personal contact to our customers is paramount for us. Depend-ing on where and how the situation allows, we can therefore envisage coming to our customers (worldwide) in the first half of 2021 with smaller, local events. We will inform and invite you well in time to the Amann Girrbach "Regional Dental Shows". We look forward to seeing our customers again in the usual way."
