Zolid Shade Guide: Determining the Correct Tooth Color
The correct tooth color can only be reliably determined if the shade guide and the restoration are made of the same material. With our Zolid Shade Guides—including the DIY version—color determination is therefore more precise than ever.
Date
In dental practices, shade guides such as those from Vita are typically used to determine the final tooth shade. These meet industry standards but can cause color deviations due to their material composition (often resin or feldspar ceramic).
A zirconia shade guide is therefore ideal—it allows for direct comparison with the material from which the final restoration will be fabricated. For Zolid Bion, we already have a matching shade guide (Item No. 761943) in our portfolio, which is ideal for all Zolid Bion restorations. The design has recently been revised, giving the shade guide a significantly higher-quality appearance and making it noticeably easier to handle.
In addition, we offer a “Zolid Do It Yourself – Shade Guide” (Item No. 761942). This allows the user to freely select both the material and the shades. The DIY Shade Guide comes with retaining elements and matching metal plates; the restorations can be milled in-house and finalized within your own workflow—for example, through sintering or glazing. This ensures precise shade determination. The illustrated instructions guide the user step by step through the creation of the DIY Shade Guide. The corresponding milling file can be conveniently downloaded from the Amann Girrbach website.
