Esthetic Management – “The Art of Time – Characterization of Zirconia”

Objective

The course combines theoretical background knowledge with practical tips and gives you confidence in working with Naturals coloring liquids—from application to the finished, customized zirconia crown.

Procedure

First, the prepared zirconia crowns are customized to match the patient’s age in their “green state” using appropriate instruments. In this process, the shape, texture, and surface characteristics are specifically adapted to the respective age of the tooth.

Next, the crowns are stained using Zolid Naturals staining liquids. Using three teeth of different ages, you will develop a solid understanding of agedependent color effects, structure, and characteristics:

• The youthful tooth
  Light tooth color with a focus on high translucency and opalescence to realistically mimic the typical youthful light dynamics.
• The middle-aged tooth
  Medium tooth shade with an emphasis on building a saturated dentin color in the cervical third. Additionally, age-related details such as enamel cracks or fine internal stains are characterized.
• The older tooth
  Significantly increased saturation in the cervical region (Chroma-Boost). Simulation of secondary dentin as well as deeper discolorations through intensive infiltration of the staining liquids.

Shahab Esfarjani was born in Tehran in 1963 and completed his training as a dental technician from 1981 to 1984. After graduating from master school in 1993, he worked as a self-employed master dental technician, initially in Idstein (Germany) and from 2015 in Innsbruck (Tyrol). In 2022, he opened another branch in Götzis (Vorarlberg) and has since been giving photography courses for dental technicians and dentists.
